The MAP features engaging, educational programming, events and camps for visitors and members every month. From Science Happy Hour to Little Explorers Club, there’s something for every age and interest! MAP Programs and Events are FREE or discounted for members.

Science Happy Hour

Science Happy Hour features a dynamic presentation by an expert in a particular STEAM field such as paleontology, arts and sciences, medicine and astronomy. Drinks and appetizers are provided with ticket purchase during these engaging talks followed by Q & A. Science Happy Hour is $10 for non-members. Members attend FREE. Science Happy Hour takes place on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 - 8pm, usually once per month. Check in begins at 6pm.

Little Explorers Club

These fun-filled 45-minute sessions guide children ages 3-5 through a STEAM  topic with Museum scientists. Each exploratory session includes story time, an activity or experiment, artifact or animal encounters, and a craft. Little Explorers Club takes place Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, twice each month. $5 for Non-Members and FREE for MAP Members. Pre-registration is recommended.

JAM Sessions

Junior Adventurers at the Museum (JAM) Sessions engage elementary age students in fun, hands-on inquiry-based activities to familiarize students with STEM-essentials. JAM Sessions take place on Tuesdays and Saturdays, twice each month. $5 for Non-Members and FREE for MAP Members. Pre-registration is recommended.

Cinema + Science

Enjoy special movie screenings at Cinetopia in Prairiefire with an engaging panel discussion afterwards.  Light snacks and beverages accompany the panel presentation followed by a meet and greet with film makers, scientists and field experts. First 100 MAP Members receive FREE entry. Non-Member tickets are $10.

Barnum’s Bingo FUNdraisers

Support the Mission of the MAP, including our signature initiative KC Urban Advantage, by putting the FUN in fundraiser with 10 games of three-on-bingo!  A great time for families, friends, company outings and ALL AGES! Ticket price includes your eats, drinks, treats, and prizes. 30 chances to win plus raffle prizes so awesome they'll knock your lucky troll right off the table!

The MAP offers programs exclusively designed for and dedicated to Homeschooling Families. These programs include HOME AT THE MAP Field Trips, Little Explorers Club and JAM Sessions.
