Dinosaurs get a lot of attention, but the giant mammals that once roamed North America from 2.5 million to 10,000 years ago were just as fascinating.  What makes this group of animals interesting is their existence coincided with modern humans.  In fact, studies show that the first people who migrated down into modern-day Kansas were probably hunting mammoths.

In this camp, learn about mammoths, sabre-toothed cats, giant ground sloths, and other ice age mammals.  Also, you will learn different theories of why they all went extinct.  Use your knowledge of these animals and the environments they lived in to join in discussion about what caused their extinction.

Camp runs February 9th. Drop-off for camps are from 8:00-8:20 (drop off) to 3:30-4:00 (pick-up).
