SciFun Camp: The Science of Sound

What was the loudest sound ever recorded?  Is it true that the Earth can ring like a bell after a huge earthquake?  How do different instruments produce different sounds?  There are many different ways to describe the sounds we hear, and it all has to do with how sound moves through the air.  In fact, the speed of sound can be different depending on the season.

Similar to the science of light camp, this camp explores how sound works.  As with light, our perception of sound affects how we interact with the world.  Learn how a sound’s pitch changes depending on what it travels through (water vs. air, a tube vs. an open room) and how to manipulate the properties of sound to make your own instruments!

For elementary school age learners.

Camp runs February 20th. Drop-off for camps are from 8:00-8:20 (drop off) to 3:30-4:00 (pick-up).

Cost is $40 for members and $50 for non members (Members, please log in to your account and use the discount code previously emailed to you)
