Looking at the night sky, most of us would never think that we are actually peering back in time. Centuries ago, technology produced the first telescopes used by Galileo to only observe near objects in our solar system. Since then, improvements in telescope design and other technologies have given us a better understanding of our own solar system and have allowed us to explore other systems, stars, and galaxies. In the 21st Century, modern instruments have given us the ability to look back in time to almost the beginning of our universe. In this SciFun camp, we will look at the role technology has played in the exploration of our universe from Galileo to James Webb.
